Terms and Conditions

1. Agreement and acceptance

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and emanuals.ai (“we”, “us”, “our”). They apply to your use of emanuals.ai, our application, our waitlist, and related features and content (together, the “Services”). By joining the waitlist, creating an account, buying a membership, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms.

2. What emanuals.ai is

emanuals.ai is a conversational repair information service. You ask a question, and the service generates an answer grounded in indexed repair procedures.

  • emanuals.ai does not provide manuals or PDF downloads and is not a manual library.
  • Answers are generated responses, not copies of source documents. Where a source is shown, it identifies the manufacturer and section only.
  • Troubleshooting responses may also draw on general mechanical knowledge in addition to indexed repair procedures.
  • Coverage varies by manufacturer, model, year, and system. Not every vehicle or procedure is covered, and coverage may change.

3. Waitlist, early access, and beta

  • The Services are in development. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access, a launch date, specific features, or pricing.
  • Features, coverage, limits, and pricing may change or be withdrawn as the Services develop.
  • Early access and beta features are provided as is and may be changed, limited, or ended at any time.
  • If you join the waitlist, we may email you about launch and related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

4. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
  • Provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Individual accounts are for one person. Team or workshop plans, where offered, are governed by their plan details.
  • We may suspend or lock accounts we reasonably believe are compromised, shared, or used against these Terms.

5. Memberships, tokens, and billing

  • Paid access is provided through memberships. Each membership has plan details, which may include price, billing period, token or usage allowances, features, seats, and limits. The plan details shown at purchase form part of these Terms and control if they conflict with them for that membership.
  • Tokens measure use of the Services. How tokens are allocated, used, renewed, added, or expire is described in the plan details. Tokens have no cash value and cannot be transferred, except where law requires otherwise.
  • Recurring memberships renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. By purchasing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method at each renewal.
  • We may change prices, plans, and allowances. We will give notice by email or in the application, and changes apply from your next renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before renewal.
  • Prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
  • If you have a billing concern, please contact us before starting a payment dispute so we can try to fix it.
  • Payments are handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card details.

6. Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel your membership at any time. Cancelling stops future renewals.
  • Refunds, if any, are governed by the plan details shown at purchase and by applicable law.
  • If consumer law where you live gives you cancellation or refund rights, those rights are not affected by these Terms.

7. Your right to use the Services

  • We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Services for your own repair, maintenance, and diagnostic work, personal or business, within the limits of your plan.
  • You may use answers in your own work. You may not resell, republish, or distribute answers in bulk, or use them to build a competing repair information product or dataset.
  • You receive no ownership of the underlying content, software, or data.

8. Safety, accuracy, and your responsibility

  • Vehicle and equipment repair carries real risk of injury, death, and property damage, including work on brakes, steering, airbags, fuel systems, lifting equipment, and high-voltage systems.
  • Answers are information only. They are not professional advice, a vehicle inspection, or a remote diagnosis.
  • Generated answers can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and may not match your exact vehicle (trim, market, build date, or modifications). Answers depend on the vehicle details you provide, so incorrect details can lead to incorrect answers.
  • You are responsible for verifying critical specifications and procedures against the manufacturer’s current documentation, following safety procedures, using proper tools and equipment, and applying your own professional judgment. If you are unsure, stop and consult a qualified technician.
  • Manufacturer names are used only to identify vehicles and repair procedures. emanuals.ai is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer. All trademarks belong to their owners.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to query the Services or extract content, except through an interface we provide for that purpose
  • attempt to extract, reconstruct, or reproduce source documents or the underlying data
  • use the Services or answers to train, fine-tune, or benchmark any model, or to build a competing product or dataset
  • circumvent token limits, usage limits, vehicle selection, or security controls
  • share account access, or resell or sublicense access
  • probe or interfere with platform security, or try to manipulate the system to bypass its rules
  • submit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, malware, or personal information about other people that is unrelated to your repair work
  • use the Services to break any law or regulation

We may investigate, limit, suspend, or terminate access for violations.

10. Intellectual property

  • We and our licensors own the Services, including software, design, indexes, and compiled data. Manufacturer names, trademarks, and the source materials behind the Services remain the property of their respective owners.
  • You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and use it to provide, secure, support, and improve the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • If you give us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.

If you believe content in the Services infringes your rights, contact us at [email protected] with: the work you believe is affected, where in the Services it appears, your contact details, a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized, and a statement that your notice is accurate. We will review it and respond appropriately, which may include restricting or removing content.

12. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties, such as payment processors, hosting providers, and AI model providers. We are not responsible for third-party services or sites linked from the Services.

13. Changes and availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or coverage of any particular vehicle, system, or procedure. If we discontinue a paid membership in its entirety, we will notify you.

14. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, abuse, security risks, or legal reasons. You can stop using the Services at any time. When access ends, your license ends. Sections that by nature should survive will survive.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the outcome of any repair performed using the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded by law.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, emanuals.ai and its officers, employees, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, downtime, repair costs, or damage to vehicles, equipment, or property arising from your use of or reliance on the Services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or, where applicable law does not permit limitation, death or personal injury caused by negligence.

17. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Services.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which emanuals.ai is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before starting a formal claim, you agree to contact us at [email protected] and try to resolve the issue informally for 30 days.

Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, before a single arbitrator, in English. The location of the arbitration will be set under those rules or agreed by the parties. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis, and you waive any right to bring or join a class, collective, or representative action, and any right to a jury trial, to the extent permitted by law.

Either party may seek urgent relief from a court to protect intellectual property or prevent misuse of the Services. If any part of this section is found unenforceable where you live, the rest of it remains in effect, and mandatory consumer protection laws where you live still apply.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the application. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using the Services and cancel any membership.

20. General

These Terms, together with the plan details and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us. You may not assign them without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
